I’m concerned at the implications of that thread

Lack of POC in mainstream media is part of the problem.

It’s part of the ideal that they try to sell.

The media feeds us information in a manipulative way, subconsciously, about who we are and who we should be, what we should look like, what part we play in the world because of what we look like.

It’s time to shake all of that off, find out who we really are instead of being told who we are, and work towards a future with more inclusive and less harmful media. Part of the reason I want to act, is I want to see more people who look like me out there. Any other POC who is a performer is fighting and working hard for the opportunity.
