“The brief was to portray Disney princesses enjoying a little tea party but they all had to be portrayed the same age as their respective movies (for example Snow White would be 75 years old, Aurora 53, Belle 21, Rapunzel 2 etc).

Milky Way Shows 84 Million Stars in 9 Billion Pixels

Side Note: The two images shown above are mere crop outs from ESA’s recent hit: The 9 Billion Pixel Image of 84 Million Stars. These two focus on the bright center of the image for the purpose of highlighting what a peak at 84,000,000 stars looks like.

Astronomers at the European Southern Observatory’s Paranal Observatory in Chile have released a breathtaking new photograph showing the central area of our Milky Way galaxy. The photograph shows a whopping 84 million stars in an image measuring 108500×81500, which contains nearly 9 billion pixels.

It’s actually a composite of thousands of individual photographs shot with the observatory’s VISTA survey telescope, the same camera that captured the amazing 55-hour exposure. Three different infrared filters were used to capture the different details present in the final image.

The VISTA’s camera is sensitive to infrared light, which allows its vision to pierce through much of the space dust that blocks the view of ordinary optical telescope/camera systems.

Can we just take a minute and take in the breath-taking short film “Paperman?”

So I just came home from watching Wreck It Ralphbut I could not get over how this Disney short was so beautiful. The animation was so beautiful. It would have to be my ultimate favorite from all the other shorts, because I can relate to it so bad. These two characters were in a big city and it’s crazy how just two small people can find romance in a huge city. I’m always in the city and it’s just crazy how standing next to the guy waiting for your train to come can turn out to be the love of your life. And you never know if you will see them another time and it could be fate.

For some reason my best friend and I could see Joseph Gordon Levitt and Zooey Deschanel doing a live action version of it. Lmao THEY SHOULD DO IT.

But guys. I was tearing up. I was about to leave and say to everyone, “Im good. I don’t think I need to see Wreck It Ralph. The 12 bucks I paid has been satisfied with this short film.” LOL In all seriousness, this short film AND Wreck It Ralph were awesome movies to watch! I think I may change up my NYCC cosplays next year ;D

I’m incredibly happy, I’m incredibly lucky, I found myself in a pattern of being attracted to people who were somehow unavailable, and what I realized was that I was protecting myself because I equated the idea of connection and love with trauma and death. I had to do a lot of work on the couch to really get to a place where I was able to show up to a relationship with someone who was actually capable of being in one — and that took a lot of trial and error. I definitely want kids, I want to share. - Zachary Quinto {x}

Real talk: After eighteen years of non-blacks saying that they want to see my hair “really really straight, like theirs,” I’m in a place where the exact opposite is admired and even a bit envied- by non-black people! I mean, you don’t understand how crazy it is, how wonderful it is, to be in a place where natural hair of all sorts is loved, unless you’ve been told that your hair ought to be more like an Asian’s or a white girl’s- less wild and frizzy and soulful. This is a society where it is often the case that a black girl has to take on non-black physical traits in order to be considered beautiful by her peers: to find so many people here who are not black and are perfectly fine with everything about my looking like a black girl is somewhat surprising- and very refreshing.

I’ve had friends and strangers alike come up to me asking how I do this to my hair, fluffing it, saying it’s amazing. And honestly, I can’t help but agree- thi

s is how I love my hair. This is what suits me. And to my fellow black girls- do what you want with your hair. Straightened is fine, natural is fine, but make sure you do YOU. Black girls are just as beautiful as the girls of any other race: don’t you ever forget it.
