I got this tattoo done by the amazing Scott Mustapic (Oddfellows tattoo collective, Leeds)

Sat for 7 hours straight getting this done, and it was worth every second :) Marilyn is a beautiful woman and is one of my idols, hence why I got her face tattooed on me. So happy with it!

To remind me that this is my life, and my story. When I look at this, I remember that I am strong, and that I, not those around me, am responsible for my own happiness. And by that same token, no one can bring me down. I’ve got this; I don’t need to be saved.

Thanks to James at Tar Heel Tattoo for this amazing work.

Im on the right of course. This was my first tattoo and thought to go big the first time and get it on my side. Since the 8th grade, my nickname had always been Tree because of my height. After a year or so this nickname started to become actually who I was, so I decided to get a tree on my side. So even if the name does die off, I still have a little bit of it apart of me. The little guy to the left of me is my little brother who I love more than anything in the world. He is always trying to be like me, so when he saw the tattoo he begged and begged for on just like it. So I drew one on his side and told him it was a kids tattoo and that when he’s my age he can get a big boy tattoo haha. I got the the tattoo down in South Carolina at a shop called The Broken Lantern.

This is my mockingjay. It was my third tattoo. I the books are my favorite. It was done by Corey at Twisted Needle in SC. The motifs and growth shown in the books speak deeply to me and I try to live up to being as much as the best of myself as I possibly can because of it.

March 19th, 2012 - My 20th birthday.

I always thought that tattoos like this were kind of mindless. I never understood why anyone would ever get a matching tattoo with their significant other, or even their name, until I met Matthew. We share a special connection that I don’t think many people get to experience. He’s my literal soul mate. We share the same interests, the same opinions, and scary enough the exact same thought process. He knows what I’m thinking before I say it, and vice versa. He knows how to make me happy, how to calm me down, and how to pull me out of a dark place. He’s incredibly supportive, and would do anything for me, just like I would do anything for him. He understands me, and everything I have ever been through. Our love is like no other, and I am very thankful to have him in my life. This tattoo represents our dedication to one another, and that he has me forever. I will never leave him, and this tattoo proves just that. Matthew Auretta, you will forever, and always, hold the key to my heart. I love you so much, please never forget that.

I got a lion to represent courage, which is something that I try to live my life by. It reminds me of my grandma who passed away when I was 5. When she was 12 years old, she smuggled herself out of Morocco by herself, and went to Israel to help establish the country in Israel’s War for Independence. To think of how much courage that would take is mind-blowing and I respect/miss her more than words can say. I got it done at Unbreakable Tattoo in Studio City, CA, by the extremely talented, Jim Sylvia! Amazing experience. Better than anything I could have ever hoped for.

This is my Harry Potter Deathly Hallows tattoo. I have grown up with Harry Potter I started reading it when I was 9 and I’m now 23. He’s been there with me through thick and thin, break ups, deaths, life changes. This story has truely been a staple in my life, I couldn’t imagine a world without it. Everyone yound and old can get something out of this series, its keeps the magic alive in all of us. I got my tattoo in Albuquerque, NM at 71 Tattoo, by Danny V. I designed it and the artist perfected it. I wanted something simple and feminine, its on my upper forearm and I love it there because its a great way to start up a conversation about Harry Potter especially with strangers who also share my love. This won’t be my last HP tattoo, but this tattoo means so much to me!
